OK, I'm bummed that my Red Sox fell short of rallying back against the (annoyingly) pesky Rays at Fenway this afternoon. 4-3 final.

But I about jumped out of my seat when, in the 2nd or 3rd inning, just as they were going to a commercial break, I distinctly heard about 3-4 seconds of ESTIMATED PROPHET as the "play-out" music!

Gotta be a Deadhead on NESN's (New England Sports Network) production crew. Very cool, and a nice little saving grace to losing 2 out of 3 to the Rays to start the season.

Pretty cool. On a sadder note, it's an f-in shame about the angels pitcher dead at 22 due to a drunk driver. That poor family.

I know. Talk about bad mojo w/the Angels to start the year--this happened just a few days after a fan got killed at the stadium when he got into a fight w/some other guy, then got sucker-punched from behind by another idiot, fell and hit his head on the concrete.

Also, both the rookie picther and the fan who got killed were taken to UC Irvine Med Ctr., where I think they both died after unsuccessful emergency surgeries.

Lousy karma for So. cal. for sure. They postponed the scheduled game tonight w/Oakland out of deference to the family of the rookie pitcher.

And need I mention that the guy who plowed into the car the picther was in (2 other passengers died as well) did a hit & run, was caught by the cops later, and turns out he had previous DUI convictions? Bummer all around.

I heard that as well. I was happy to see that the devil himself, Scott Boris, was extremly shaken by the passing. The man showed a lot of emotion today at the press conference

Wow...the kid was a Boras client? Knowing Boras he'll want a percentage of the damages claim if the family sues the driver. (I suppose that's unfair of me to say). But Boras is as close to pure evil as you get in the sports-marketing-bloodsucking universe.

Agree, which made it more emotional. Boris could barely get the words out
